Leonid Gaidai’s short comedy based on the poetic newspaper satire of the Soviet humorous poet Stepan Oleinik, a novella in the movie almanac “In Earnest”
It’s the first screen appearance of the future famous trio of Coward, Simpleton and Seasoned. The movie premiered in 1961 at the closing ceremony of the MIFF. That same year it participated in the competition of shorts in the Cannes IFF.
