PRADIP KURBAH
PRADIP KURBAH is a filmmaker from the city of Shillong. Born and raised in the culturally rich region of Meghalaya, his path to filmmaking was driven by a deep love for storytelling and a strong connection to his homeland. Despite lacking formal training, his relentless curiosity and determination enabled him to become a self-taught filmmaker, refining his craft over more than two decades in the industry. His career encompasses a wide range of roles, from directing pioneering films in Meghalaya's local dialects to producing acclaimed Khasi music albums as a composer. Winner of national and international film festivals. He won Best Khasi Film at the National Film Awards for “Ri Homeland of Uncertainty” (2015), “Onaatah: Daughter of the Earth” (2016), and “Ïewduh: Market” (2019).
