Sungkyu Cho founded the movie magazine Nega in 1997, and Sponge Ent. in 2002, WAW in 2019. He imported/distributed foreign films and produced/invested in Korean films. He produced/invested in "My Dear Enemy", "The Itaewon Murder Case", "One Billion", "The Rough Cut", and "The Actresses", and distributed/invested in "Time", "Breath", "Sad Dream" (directed by Kim Ki-duk), "Even Though I Don't Know", "Bukchon Direction", "Oki's Movie", and "In Another Country" (directed by Hong-sangsoo). He made his directorial debut in 2009 with the film "Second Half". His directorial filmography also includes "A Long Day" (2023), "In the Head" (2024), "Okinawa Bluenote" (2025), etc.
