Marino Mariano is a fisherman and musician from Collantes an afro-mexican community on the Coast of Oaxaca
He is illiterate, yet has composed over 46 songs. Today, at 68, he wants to record the ones he still remembers before he forgets them. On this path, Marino finds other musicians, The Authentics, who as a reflection of their own history also seek to leave their print on their music.

CRISTOBAL JASSO was born in Mexico City. He is a Rural Sociologist. He started audiovisual training in several communities in Oaxaca´s state coast. In 2015 he obtained a grant from Ambulante Más Allá as an editor and sound designer for the short documentary “Caricia”. In 2019 he started the production of his prima opera, the documentary “Marino and the Authentics”. In parallel, he started the codirection of “Ndatu savi. La suerte del agua”. He is teacher in the Afrouniversidad Politécnica Intercultural.
