Ruy Guerra was born in 1931 in Mozambique. He studied at IDHEC film school in Paris from 1952. In 1958 he started his career as an assistant director in several French films. Later on he immigrated to Brazil, where he directed his first feature film, «The Hustlers» (1962). He has directed 19 features, won over 60 awards, with national classic «The Guns» (1964), «A queda» (1978), «Erendiara» (1983), «Malandro» (1986) and «Turbulence» (2000). His «Portugal S.A. was shown in competition of the 26 MIFF while «Quasi Memoria» premiered at the 39 MIFF.

When executive Ricardo is found shot dead in the seat of his car without suspicion, Inspector Espinosa and police officer Daia are in charge of the case and soon begin to investigate the people closest to the victim. But when everyone involved in the case mysteriously disappears, the situation takes on unexpected proportions.

Daniel Filho was born in 1937 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He created one blockbuster after another, many adapted from the theatre. He has directed for both cinema and TV. In the second half of the 1980s and the 1990s, he concentrated on producing. He returned to directing with «The Inheritance», in 2001 and, since then, has released another eight features.
