The events take place in Naples in the 17th century

The charming Carmela, the wife of the miller Luca, has attracted the attention of Don Teofilo, the city's new governor. Luca gets involved in the popular uprising and is arrested. To lure the beauty into his bed, the governor hints at the conditions under which her husband might be released. After drugging Teofilo, Carmela heads to the prison, but her husband has already escaped. Finding only the sleeping governor at home and suspecting the worst, Luca decides to seduce his wife in revenge...
