GEMSTONES

Simón Vélez was born in Medellín, Colombia, in 1990. He is a director and producer. He studied film at Universidad del Cine (FUC) in Buenos Aires. He has directed the short films "Por ver la luz en tus pupilas" (2015), "Historia del agua" (2016), "La máxima longitud de un puente" (2018), which received a Special Mention at the Locarno IFF, and "Los mayores ríos se deslizan bajo tierra" (2022), winner of the Best Short Film Award at the Valdivia IFF. His work is characterized by an exploration of nature and the world of dreams.
