12-year-old Antoine Doinel is a problem teenager
His mother is busy with her personal life and has neither the time nor the desire to understand her son's problems. His step-father is a weak-willed man and has no say either with his wife or his stepson. The teacher can only punish the boy. Antoine and his pal begin to skip school more frequently and run away from home.
