A Charlie Chaplin tragicomedy about the misadventures of the Tramp who is trying to survive in the new industrial society during the Great Depression in the USA

This is the movie in which the Tramp finds his voice for the first and last time. In the last episode he sings a song, as it were symbolizing the onset of the sound era and the farewell to silent cinema.
