The last two surviving members of the Piripkura people, a nomadic tribe in the Mato Grasso region of Brazil, struggle to maintain their indigenous way of life amidst the region’s massive deforestation.

BRUNO JORGE studied social communication in São Paulo, Brazil, documentary film in Paris, France, and master in performing arts in Liège, Belgium. Influenced by ethnography, visual anthropology and experimental cinema, he has made over 20 films, including the short films “Setback” (best film at Festival do Rio), “Justice to Insult”, “November, December” and “Catuçaba”. He also directed 4 feature length documentaries, including “Piripkura” (Human Rights prize at IDFA, best film at Festival do Rio, Docville, Cartagena, among others). “The Invention of the Other” premiered at Brasilia FF and won 4 awards.
