GABRIELE SALVATORES was born in Naples in 1950. He graduated at Accademia d’Arte Drammatica del Piccolo Teatro in Milan. One of the founders of the Teatro dell’Elfo. Staged 21 plays. He also made a rock-musical based on Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. In 1982 this show became his first feature film. In 1992 his film “Mediterraneo” won of the Oscar for Best International Feature Film.
