In a small town in Italy, a boy, Matteo, lives surrounded by coffins and illness
Faced with this daily nonsense, he dreams of dying like a hero in the ring. Thousands of kilometers away, a calf, Fandango, grows up ignoring the purpose for which it was born: to become a fighting bull and fight to death in front of thousands of people.

ALESSANDRO PUGNO is an Italian director, photographer and poet, based in Spain and closely linked in his work to the Ibero-American world. His work includes “In the Shadow of the Cross” (2013), a documentary, which was selected for renowned festivals such as Mar del Plata, Guadalajara, Sao Paulo, Lima, Festival dei Popoli and Malaga, where it won the award for best documentary. “Human Animal” is his first fiction feature film.
