Based on true events, the film recounts the twenty-eight days leading up to the tragic events of March 4 2005, when Nicola Calipari, director of the Italian Secret Services, sacrificed his life to save Giuliana Sgrena, a journalist kidnapped in Iraq by a terrorist cell.

ALESSANDRO TONDA was born in 1982, graduated in film direction from the Nuova Università del Cinema e della Televisione at the Cinecittà Studios. He has primarily worked as an assistant director, both in cinema and television. He directed music videos and short film “The Bookmakers” (2015) before making his feature film debut with “The Shift” (2020).
