Adaptation of Joseph Conrad's classic into a Brazilian dystopia
Rio de Janeiro, near future. Marlon, a young lieutenant in the Rio police force, is tasked with finding Captain Kurtz, a shadowy figure who disappeared under mysterious circumstances in the sprawling outskirts of the city. Marlon must carry out his mission aboard a boat, accompanied by a morally ambiguous officer, Sergeant Medeiros, embarking on a perilous journey through Rio's marginalized periphery.

ROGÉRIO NUNES is a director, screenwriter, and audiovisual producer, explores artistic and auteur-driven storytelling, experimenting with meta-narratives and blending animation techniques in innovative ways. He has produced and directed numerous animated shorts and documentaries, including "Linear" by Amir Admoni) and "Bailarino e o Bonde" (his own short work), which collectively screened at over 120 festivals worldwide and won more than 20 awards. His recent works include the animated features "Boca do Lobo" by Vivian Altman and "Heart of Darkness", the latter featured at the 2025 Annecy International Animation Film Festival (France).
