Chen Kun-Hou is a renowned cinematographer and a prominent figure in Taiwan New Cinema movement. Starting out as a photographer, in 1971 he became a cinematographer for "Story of Mother". At the Golden Horse Awards-1978 he won the Best Cinematography for "He Never Gives Up". He began directing in 1979. His best-known works include "Growing Up" and "Osmanthus Alley". In 2023 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 60th Golden Horse Awards.
