The documentary series "Born in the USSR" is a unique chronology which began in 1989 and has continued for more than 30 years
The authors follow 20 children from different Republics of the former Soviet Union revisiting their life stories every seven years. The new film focuses on the age of 35 years, the time of adulthood and re-evaluation when a man finds himself at the "midpoint" of his life. This is a series about the coming of age of a generation, the search for oneself, about the human being undergoing changes in the changing world.

SERGEY MIROSHNICHENKO
Sergey Miroshnichenko was born in 1955 in Chelyabinsk. In 1983 graduated from the Department of Directing at VGIK (class of A. Kochetkov). He first attracted attention with the non-fiction films "Madam Tundra" (1986, Grand Prix at the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival) and "The Past Seems a Dream..." (1987, Nika Award). A Professor at VGIK, teaches a class Non-Fiction Film Directing. Co-founder and artistic director of Ostrov Studio. His directorial credits include "Chastushka: the 20th Century" (1989), "7-year-olds in the USSR" (1990), "Born in the USSR: 14-year-olds" (1998), "Unknown Putin: Peace and War" (2000), "Twilight of the Gods" (2009), "Rings of the World" (2014), "The Bottom" (2017), and others.
