Life in a Kurdish village in Eastern Turkey is routine for Grandfather Hamit
Every day for the last 5 years he visits his wife’s grave. Political problems force Hamit and the other villagers to leave their village. Grandfather Hamit and his son’s family want to go to Germany.

HASAN DEMIRTAS received his BA from Marmara University in Istanbul, graduated from Documentary Media MFA at Northwestern University. His shorts got festival awards and participated in international film festivals including the Cannes and Atlanta. His first documentary feature film “You Name It” received prize for the best documentary feature film at the Collected Voices Film Festival in the USA. “Separation” is his first fiction feature film.
