A documentary picture of the prison which housed a record number of politicians, revolutionaries, scientists, philosophers and military men
That is the reason why the Vladimir Central was treated as a political prison in the first place and only later it became a place for dangerous special offenders. Among the characters in the film are employees, inmates and veterans who at some point guarded Stalin’s son Vasily, Russian singer Lidia Ruslanova, criminal bosses. They reflect upon the values of life and death, reform, love, motherland and try to find an answer to the question: what is the justest law-court?
