Graduated from the acting department of VGIK. Her first role in cinema was in Sergei Gerasimov’s film “Lev Tolstoy” (1984). Her directorial debut “Happy Birthday!” (1998) received several awards of national and international film festivals. Her second feature film, “With Love, Lily” (2002) won a Tiger Award in Rotterdam IFF. “Nothing Personal” (2007) won the FIPRESCI Award at the Moscow IFF. “Once in Trubchevsk” (2019) was premiered in the Un Certain Regard at the Cannes IFF. Her filmography also includes “Babysitter Required” (2005), “Sonny” (2009), “She” (2013), “Country Show” (2016, doc.).
