The main competition at the Moscow Film Festival always has surprises in store, which subsequently define the trajectory of national and international cinema. Special place is taken by national films, the authors of which consider it an honor to hold world premieres of their movies in Moscow. Some true discoveries of the Moscow Film Festival attracted a lot of attention throughout the world and several of them acquired the “cult” status, among them are “Koktebel” by Alexei Popogrebsky and Boris Khlebnikov, “Chapiteau-Show”  by Sergei Loban, “Yes And Yes” by Valeria Gay Germanika, “My Good Hans” by Alexandr Mindadze, “Bottomless Sack” by Rustam Khamdamov, “Nu” by Yan Ge, “Epidemic. Vongozero” by Pavel Kostomarov, “The Lord Eagle” by Eduard Novikov. The complete list of participants in the competition of the 42nd  Moscow International Film Festival will be announced at the official MIFF press conference which will be held in September 2020.
